Culinary uses

Cinnamon is used in a wide range of food products including drinks. Whole quills of cinnamon can be used for certain dishes but this spice is most commonly used in ground form. Cinnamon goes well with meat, but is most commonly used in cakes, biscuits, and desserts.

Storage

This spice is usually stored in whole form. The quills will retain their aroma and flavour for 2-3 years if stored in an airtight container. Ground cinnamon loses its flavour quite quickly, so it is best purchased in small quantities and kept in an airtight container.
